Kevin, I have suffered from depression as a part of "bi-polar affective disorder" from puberty until pretty recently. I suspect hormones as well as heredity gave me this disease. In its worst depths, I was already a Christian, and I would think things like: well, I'm supposed to hate my life, because if I love it, I will somehow lose eternal life (we all mess up scripture at times) I had a husband who loved me, but I couldn't receive his love in part because our definitions were so different. I had three healthy kids (the worst of the depression hit as post-partum with our first, now 40) we had no financial problems (i.e. we were not rich, but we didn't want to be) Your sister has my prayers for sure. Just a first name would be good to know. Oh, I mentioned "bi-polar"—-I loved the manic episodes, but am glad they're over!
